In this fine spring day, we are taking you to Canada to visit one of the organisers’ most admired researchers - Dr Bonnie Stewart. The first time we heard Bonnie speak was at an ALT conference way back when and we instantly fell in love with them and what they believe in (forgive us for being too forward here!). We really do admire Bonnie’s research interests in the meaning of learning, our way of life that is so intertwined with various digital networks. What does it mean for us? How do we embrace it? Both academically and professionally…
Also, any researchers who embrace an open practice has a special place in our heart.
Learn more about Bonnie:
Dr Bonnie Stewart is an educator and social media researcher interested in the implications of digital networks for institutions and society. A career facilitator with extensive experience in higher ed and in professional contexts, Bonnie has an extensive background in digital and experiential education, and in participatory and adult learning approaches. What it means to know, to learn, and to be a citizen in our current information ecosystem are the questions at the core of Bonnie's career. These questions have manifested over time in early MOOC research, in ethnographic investigation of Twitter as an academic environment, and in explorations of educators' data literacies and the ethics of datafied infrastructures. Bonnie is committed to the principles and possibilities of public education.
