Welcome back to our 5th season of the #TELresearchers & #HEresearcher series! To get us started this year, we are excited to have Prof. Damien Page joining us to share his story spanning both FE and HE!
Introducing Damien:
Professor Damien Page is the Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer of Buckinghamshire New University (BNU), having taken up the role in February 2025 following his appointment as Deputy Vice-Chancellor in 2023. He brings with him a broad and distinctive career spanning further and higher education, teaching, research and senior leadership. Damien began his career in FE as a lecturer, developing a strong foundation in teaching and student support before progressing into leadership roles in HE with a mission to imporve education for students from all backgrounds.
Prior to joining BNU, Damien held senior academic and executive positions at institutions including Birkbeck (University of London), the University of Greenwich, Leeds Beckett University and the University of Wolverhampton. Across these roles, he became well known for championing social justice, inclusion and organisational change, leading strategies that supported under-represented students and strengthened links between education, communities and industry. Alongside his leadership work, Damien is an active researcher with a particular interest in organisational behaviour in education settings, exploring how leadership and culture shape educational outcomes.
At Buckinghamshire New University, Damien is committed to a student-centred, inclusive and values-driven approach, building on the university’s strengths in teaching excellence, employability and community engagement. He is passionate about creating an environment where students and staff can thrive, and about positioning BNU as a confident, ambitious institution that responds positively to the challenges and opportunities facing higher education.
