This is a #HEresearchers session!
What a treat you are all going to have with our first post summer holiday session with the amazing Dr Martin Compton!
Martin has been an active member in the HE community, leading and contributing to critical discloses in trends and issues. He doesn’t hold back on his opinions, passion and enthusiasm in experimenting with innovation and intervention. We love him just the way he is! At the heart of all these, is Martin’s caring heart about an inclusive and equitable educational experience for our students!
Learn more about Martin:
Martin Compton, with 30+ years in education, has taught across various levels from secondary schools to universities, both in the UK and internationally. He champions equity-centred education, innovative digital approaches, and unorthodox lecturer observation methods. His career includes roles at the University of Greenwich, UCL, and currently at King's College London, emphasising digital education and generative AI initiatives. Martin's doctoral research focussed on unorthodox approaches to lecturer observation and he has long been an advocate for removing grading and evaluation from teacher observations which ties in nicely with his ongoing passion for decentring grades and grading practices across education. In 23-24 he chaired the King's College Teaching Fund research committee overseeing 19 AI related projects and is himself currently conducting research into the impact of different approaches to developing AI literacy.
