Mon 12 Dec 2022, 12noon -2pm (GMT), online
In this TEL Researcher Christmas Special 2022, four of our guests - Dr Brett Bligh, Dr Kyungmee Lee, Dr Phil Moffitt and Dr Tünde Varga-Atkins will be returning to discuss their experiences with research collaborations.
The panel discussion will last approximately 90 minutes followed by 30 mins Christmas drinks and snacks (You will have to bring your own ;-)). Wearing Christmas jumpers or Christmas hats or both is strongly encouraged !!
Choose their name above to find out more about them and access the recordings of their TEL Researchers sessions.
By the way, no person has been harmed during the planning process and we are all getting along perfectly fine! :-)
Some of the things they will talk about include:
Why should TEL researchers consider co-authoring?
How to be a co-author, whilst maintaining an identity as an independent scholar?
How to find the “right” collaborator?
What are the different collaborative writing models?
What’s in it for the ‘mentoring’ author?
What’s in it for the ‘mentored’ author?
How to decide who is 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc authors?
When our “timelines” do not match?
How to resolve disagreements?
When and should you compromise?
How to agree and track workload distribution?
Metrics, and indices; can co-authoring go too far?
If there is anything else you want us to discuss, you can add them to this Google Doc
